On 2-5 July 2016 the Sokolniki Exhibition and Convention Centre hosted the annual Moscow Halal Expo exhibition. This event brought together participants from different countries. Madina Kalimullina, co-founder and organizer of the exhibition, shared information about distinctive features of the event and its influence on Russian halal industry.
First and foremost, she mentioned the Russian companies’ serious approach to participating in the exhibition. Many of them managed to establish business connections with suppliers and buyers from other countries and to find new partners. It can be said that the exhibition became an irreplaceable intermediary for its participants, helping them to enter new markets, to expand production and to reach a new development level.
In 2016 many new big participants came to the exhibition, such as Jebal Al Atlas, a company from the UAE. This organization supplies and distributes halal food products at the markets of different countries. Emergence of such companies presents new opportunities for Russian producers.
Madina Kalimullina also said that from that time on only the companies that really contributed to halal market development and respected agreement terms would be invited to participate in the exhibition. Currently the partners of Moscow Halal Expo include a number of high-profile international companies. All this shows that the exhibition actually facilitates development of Russian halal industry and helps it enter the international arena.
