On 16-18 November the Sokolniki Exhibition and Convention Centre will host the Moscow Halal Expo exhibition. This biggest annual international event presents to its visitors a large variety of products complying with the halal standards. From 2017 onwards the exhibition will be held under the patronage of Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation.
In 2016 over 200 organizations from 20 countries and 25 Russian regions participated in the event. Kirill Skogorev, general director of the organizing company, says that this year the exhibition is going to be scaled up threefold. The platform will feature additional sections and divisions; business sessions will also be conducted. This is the result of the increased local demand for halal products meeting high quality standards.
Many well-known Russian companies, such as Cherkizovo, Miratorg, GAP-Resurs, are expanding their product range by manufacturing halal products. These products can currently be purchased in the biggest chain stores, such as Auchan or Azbuka Vkusa, and they are also supplied to different cafés and restaurants. Besides, there is a significant growth in halal products export to the markets of countries like Egypt, Iran and UAE.
The start of cooperation between the exhibition project and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Russia proves that this organization supports the export activity of Russian companies aimed at the Middle Eastern markets in the promising area of halal products supply.
