The second OIC Halal Middle East Exhibition & Congress taking place on 16-18 December 2013 opened today in the Expocentre Sharjah. Its participants include manufacturers of halal products from the Middle East and other countries. The exhibition is expected to be the most important event in the halal industry and a modern business platform for manufacturers and distributors of halal products from twenty different countries.
The Russian delegation led by Rushan Abbyasov, first deputy chairman of the Russia Muftis Council, also took part in the event. At the opening ceremony Rushan Abbyasov delivered a welcoming speech devoted to the necessity for halal industry development, which is closely connected with traditional Muslim values.
The exhibition features a booth with information about the activity of the Russia Muftis Council and the biggest exhibition for halal products, Moscow Halal Expo, whose director Madina Kalimullina is also a member of the Russian delegation.
A memorandum on cooperation was signed between the Expocentre Sharjah and the Russia Muftis Council. The parties signed an agreement on development of mutually beneficial business relations between the two organizations. Besides, a bilateral agreement was reached on cooperation in the areas related to economy, investment and technologies between business communities of Russia and the United Arab Emirates.
