On 11-15 March 2014 the RII (Russian Islamic Institute) is holding the seminar called “Halal and modern food technologies”. The event was organized by the Islamic economy and management department of the Institute and the Committee for the “Halal” Standard of the Spiritual Board of Muslims of Tatarstan. Recognized experts in manufacturing technology of halal food products are participating in the seminar.
According to Rustam Khairullin, deputy mufti of Tatarstan, this event is an important step in the development of the Russian Islamic economy. In the age of technical progress, we witness rapid development of manufacturing technologies in the halal sector. Therefore, informing Russian producers, as well as consumers of halal products, for whom it is getting more and more difficult to figure out the ingredients and to determine their halalness, about innovations in this field is a very important task.
Halim Aydin, head of the GIMDES research institute, spoke about his organization’s attitude towards using GMOs in the production of vegetable and animal food products. Delegates of organizations offering certification of halal products, experts and leading production engineers of manufacturing companies from different regions of Russia delivered their speeches at the seminar. The event was attended by entrepreneurs, professors, students, people of different occupations and ages. All of them could receive useful and up-to-date information about modern technologies of the halal industry sector and their practical application.
