First halal centre opens in Tatarstan

The first halal centre opened in Naberezhnye Chelny in Tatarstan. The centre offers a wide range of agricultural products, dairy products, groceries and confectionery.

The first halal centre opened in Naberezhnye Chelny in Tatarstan. The centre offers a wide range of agricultural products, dairy products, groceries and confectionery. The majority of products is provided by regional farms. Sellers have already reserved over 30 places for rent.

All food products to be sold in the centre must receive a certification from the Committee of Halal standards under the Spiritual Board of Muslims of Tatarstan.

The centre employees wear modest clothes, and there is a special prayer room available for everyone.

Alfas hazrat Gayfullin, muhtasib of Naberezhnye Chelny, delivered a speech at the opening ceremony of the halal-centre. He said that this centre was a valuable gift for all Muslim population of the city. People used to spend a lot of time trying to find halal products that were available in very few places. Now everyone can come to the halal centre and buy everything he needs in one place.

Guzel Gazizova, the centre administrator, said that the main objective for the management was to find new suppliers and to expand the product range.
