Prior to the Moscow Halal Expo 2014 exhibition for halal products the organizing committee had conducted a contest for the best slogan for the upcoming event. Over a period of several months the users of the Vkontakte social network could submit their proposals for consideration.
The voting was open and was held at the exhibition’s group page in the social network. Thirty eight versions were shortlisted and put forward to vote. Relevance and brevity were among the main requirements to slogans, but at the same time they had to be informative, reflecting the main principles and objectives of the exhibition. Five slogans got through to the final round. Not only voters, but also a special expert jury was involved in order to select the final winner. They chose the winning slogan in strict compliance with four criteria: brevity, informative value, ideological content and creativity.
Eventually the slogan of Ruslan Zhalilov (“Blessed life, blessed eternity”) was chosen as the best one. Following the results of voting and expert assessment, the second prize went to Dinara Ramazanova (“Halal. In thoughts. In heart. In actions”). Artur Hajimuradov with the slogan “Faith, mind and work forge happiness” was selected the third. The Audience Choice award was given to Sherif Osmanov, whose slogan (“The allowed is near”) got the majority of votes of the social network users.
All winners will receive prizes from the Moscow Halal Expo organizing committee, and their slogans will become a part of the advertising campaign for the upcoming exhibition.
